Hello Reuse, Recycle fans. Today I will try to show you how to create vertical garden using plastic bottle, some other materials and not so much skills.
Where to start? Find a place for your vertical garden. It is important first step because you have to know how big your garden can be. If you create it very big and do not have enough space for it - that will be a waste of time. So, space.
Second you will need some wood pieces for the frame. See the picture. The brown frame is made of wood and will hold the whole construction. Make your frame size according to the available space.
Third you have to create the steel wire frame. In this example, we made it square. Don't make it too dense - 20-30 cm between the wires is more than enough.
Next you have to mount outfalls - one at the top and one at the bottom. These are the foundation of the irrigation system. Make holes in the top outfall and glue there small tubes (blue ones at the pictures), which will lead to every single bottle. Of course, the hole diameter must be equal to the outer diameter of the small tubes so there will be no leaking.
Create the same size holes in the cap of the bottles and put there another small tube like you did it with the top outfall. This will create a drainage system for every single bottle. Put the other end in the bottom outfall.
Finally, take bigger hoses - connect one to the tap and put it in the upper outfall. Attached it firmly, so the water pressure will not take it out. Make a hole in the bottom outfall and connect another hose like this. The hole diameter must be the size of the hose's outer diameter, so there will be no leakage. You can put the other end of outgoing hose to the drain or leave it in the garden to use the excessive water.
Put some soil in the bottles and plant you favorite flowers or why not - herbs.
ADVICE: Attach the wooden frame to the wall to avoid accidents. Always use protective equipment when doing creative or repair work.
